Hi Guys,
I am building a Hexapod using MG996R servos. My question is two part; First if I am using 18 mg996r servos each with an operation voltage of 4.8v to 7.2v what battery should I use? my electronics are the Botboardardunio and the SSC-32.
Secondly do you know if the small hitec round servo horns are compatible with this servo? Can I just buy some and replace them?
Thanks very much!
George
If the maximum voltage is 7.2V, then a 7.4V LiPo should not be considered, leaving you with a charged 6V NiMh pack as being the most ideal. Don’t know if it has a Hitec spline.
Thanks! Does anyone know about the horns?
Also do I need the 1600 or the 2800mAh
According to one review on Hobby King, the servo uses Futaba servo horns which I think means 25 teeth.
Standard Hitec splines are 24 tooth with standard Futaba splines 25 tooth.
So no.
always the 2800mAh where possible but either depending on how much current drain you require.
