im guna be taking some time out. a few months to be honest. i hope i can share this picture with you. some may find it disturbing to look at so im suppliing an off-site link and not a direct link.
i was at work on wednesday and at about 13.30 we were stripping down some lengths of timber.
we were using a 9" SKILL SAW. its jumped as it hit a knote in the wood and then ran backwards over my hand. Oops.
i managed to have my op last night (finally) and i have had my index and four fingers bones put back together along with the tendents on all fingers. i was still able to close my hand but i couldnt open them!
7 hours of surgery and now im in a cast for the next 6 weeks. then i will have the pins removed and under go some physio!
here is my link. if LM will allow a direct link i can do this but for now its a bit gory… just intime for halloween i guess.
thought i might share this with you.
please be aware that its not pretty! i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd35 … 151613.jpg
Owwww! I was sorry to read of your accident - I hope your recovery is speedy and complete! Surgeons can really do some amazing things these days - I hope they get your hand back together!
well they got put in last friday when i had the op but i think they will be comming out in about 5 weeks. iv heard they just pull them out so im not looking forward to that.
They prolly will use a pair of rusty 'ole pliers and twist the wire back and forth, pulling on it, standing on your fingertips with a pair of steel toe work boots! Ouch! LOL jk,
Innerbreed,
It’s not that bad. the pins should come out easily with little or no pain.
I know, because I list one finger and had one “rebuilt”…
(interestingly, the rebuilt one used parts from the lost finger; like re-using your
SES brackets from an old project again )
