9 LED mini flashlight

I noticed last night that WalMart now has the Gordon 9 LED mini flashlights for ~$5.60 (including 3 batterys!). This would make an inexpensive light to put on a robot if needed. I used this light for testing the transistor switch I made and the MOSFET transistor easily operates it.

I may go ahead with something like this, instead of making one myself. This seems like a cheaper idea, however, I probably would have to rig it to a picoswitch in a way that I can control it from my RC controller.

Were they 3mm or 5mm LEDs? Were they white LEDs? Of they were 5mm white LEDs then its hella worth it. white LEDs are the most expensive ones. They go for like $.75-1 a pop, compared to other color LEDs which are like 25c!!

Below is the flashlight I mentioned. If an ssc32 is being used, then one of the servo pins can control it via a MOSFET transistor switch.

Edit: Also at the local DollarTree store (where every thing is just $1), I’ve seen LED lights and flashlights that have 3 white LEDs in them. These would be inexpensive to hack for use.

Zoomkat, thanks for keeping us up to date with well priced equipment! 8)
