8 Channel Relay Board independent supply

Hi there,

In a project I’m working on I’ll be controlling an 8 channel relay board with an arduino. I would like to give the relay board it’s on power supply - can someone recommend a 5v power supply that would work? This can be a mains supply but in the future I would like to power using batteries.

Thanks,
Marc

Good day to you,

Can you give us a link or a product code to the relay board you want to use ?

Thank you,

This is the relay board:

The signal should be 5V, but the power can be whatever voltage your application needs. If you’re using an Arduino, you just need to connect the digital pins and GND. On the relay side, you’ll need the power and GND connected to each relay.
If you want a wall adapter, you’ll need the mating barrel connector, and the split the power to the relays:

Hi there.

I decided to use the 4 channel relay board in the end : robotshop.com/uk/4-channel- … btEALw_wcB

The descriptions states each channel requires 15-20mA.

I’m using an Arduino Uno and I understand the max. current output per digital pin is 40mA and the total board maximum current output is 200mA - therefore this setup should work fine?

Cheers,
Marc

Indeed - You should be able to connect the Arduino’s pins directly (and VCC, GND).
