7.4V Lipo Battery Charger LEDs

My Lipo charger LED only shows red no matter how long I charge the battery. The charger is working as the batteries charge but I never know when they are fully charged. I just leave them charging over night and hope for the best.

Is there something wrong with my charger that can be fixed?

Can you provide a link to the charger you have? Have you looked through the user manual? Can you use a multimeter to see if the battery is in fact charging?

The charger I bought was RB-Dfr-607

Which battery are you using this with? It’s really only meant for:

Yep. Using that battery. I originally got these when I bought the DFRobot 4WD. I now have two of those batteries and the charger acts the same with both.

How long is the battery left connected to the charger? It should take around 3 to 4 hours. If the battery is left plugged into the charger for 5 hours and the LED still has not changed, we’ll issue an RMA. Is there any way you can check the voltage of the battery pack (a multimeter would work well).

The batteries used to be left on till the green light but now I leave one on over night.

The voltage out of the charger is 8.3 volts.

Can you measure the voltage of the batteries somehow? It sounds like they may be deeply discharged.

One battery right now is at 8.35 v and the other is at 8,32 v.

I have a volt meter in my battery input circuit and I try to recharge the batteries when they get down to about 7.3 or 7.4 volts.

So the charger is working, but for whatever reason the LED is not changing color when the battery is charged. You only need to recharge it when it’s at around 6V. The nominal voltage is 7.4V
If you’d like to proceed with an exchange on the charger, please send an e-mail to [email protected] and provide your order / invoice number and a link to this topic.
