I’m wondering if the Bluetooth module on this IMU is removable. I need both units but if they come apart, it is less expensive to buy the combo unit instead of both units separate.

I would just spend the money and buy them separately. The thing is, that bluetooth modem is most likely integrated into the entire design of the unit… and separating it from the IMU and getting it to work on its own is going to take a good long while, and some seriously cute tools…
If money is an issue, what about building the 6dof IMU from discrete components:
ADXL330 triaxial accelerometer
I know the melexis gyro’s are very nice as well, and the IDG300 and ADXL330 are available on a 5DOF board for the same price as both the separate units…
