433MHz High Sensitivity Transmitter / Receiver Pair (RXA30) -help to make it works

Product : 433MHz High Sensitivity Transmitter / Receiver Pair (RXA30)
Product code :RB-Ons-04

Hi,

I am trying to use a 433MHz High Sensitivity Transmitter / Receiver Pair (RXA30) for PIC 16F688 communication project.

Unfortunately , the receiver is very noisy, and it is useless.
Also when I separated the receiver from the the PIC, and even when the transmitter is not active the receiver is very noisy.
I have 3 receiver units , and I checked 2 of them. They behaved the same.

Specification is very limited .
Maybe the drawing is not updated, and error connections?
Do I need to use Encoder - Decoder when I use these units, and not connect them directly to the PIC 16F688 I/O?
If Yes, which Encoder - Decoder to use?

Can anyone help me find the problem?
Thank you very much indeed

RB-Ons-04 is just a transmitter/receiver pair. It does not do any error correction, encoding or anything of the sort. It should be mainly used to transmit simple information but if you transmit fast data, you will need to implement error detection, error correction, redundancy and many other features that a robust communication protocol needs.

Also, make sure there are no large noise sources like other RF devices, wireless phones, anything operating at 433MHz too close to the units, or obstacles (especially metal or water obstacles). Finally, test the units at medium range (not too close but not too far away either).

If you need a reliable data link out-of-the-box we recommend using XBee.
