I don’t understand the question

I think these two chips are exactly the same except for the number of I/O pins. Could you please consult Picaxe Manual 1 and confirm the pin-outs on these two chips?

Actually, I tried to find the pinout diagrams in the manuals and I couldn’t find them. Could you help me? If you could give me the page number of the manual where the pin-outs are, I could help you much better. I just need that page number so we will both be looking at the same thing.

What was the page number in the Picaxe manual one that shows the pin outs?

Yes.

They are exactly the same chip except the 40 has more I/O’s. As a matter of fact, when you are writing code, the Picaxe editor will be set to 28x1/40x1 --they are both programed in the same mode.

You will need to plug that 40x into something though. The “standard” 28x board will not do it. I am not sure as to what boards picaxe sells now that will accept the 40x but I am sure something is available. Just check out the available boards and buy one you like.

thanks a ton for this
