which one did you use Sir
which one did you use Sir ?
is it this one ?
can you give me link for your printer on ebay ?
Yes that is the printer I believe.
Yes that is the printer except I bought it from an amazon distributer not ebay. If you are looking into buying a printer I wouldn’t waste my time with Geeetech. There kits don’t work after you assemble them. I unfortunately got ripped. You should buy a anet Prusa i3 if you are looking to buy one. I would recommend the anet 3D printer prusa i3 from gearbest because I hear good things and I wish I had gotten that instead of my current printer. Anyways good luck!!!
LEGO
The tolerances on LEGO’s molds are incredibly high. You will be able to print many compatible parts though. DPL printers offer higher resolution and have a better chance of creating high tolerance parts. Nice to see you got your printer working well.
Thanks for the reply. You are awesome!!!
Thanks for the reply Benson!!! You are awesome!!! I just printed some more legos and I am making an entire lego set. Wish me good luck!

re: Lego
Great job. I remember having that first “print my own lego” moment too, as I explored different concepts for how to attach robot parts together. I was a lego person for years, even into adulthood with Mindstorms…great tool for your ideas.
In my opinion, the next big step is to design your own complex and customized parts using Sketchup or some such. I personally really really enjoyed the experience…the possibiliities can go in so many artistic and functional directions way beyond lego and at much lower weight. I have a couple lego bots around the house and they gain weight pretty fast as they get bigger with all the excess plastic. Check out InMoov…some very cool parts Gael has designed.
For mechanicals like gears, differentials, rack & pinion, pistons, etc…the lego “technic” sets were awesome. There are people printing in 2 colors now where the second color is purely for support (made out of a different material that “dissolves” away under a solution, leaving only the first. This allows printing complex enclosed geared structures like plastic bearings or grippers in a single print. I have never tried it but the results are really cool.
Tell your dad I said hi please.
Thanks!!! I will!!!
Sorry for the delayed response I just noticed your reply. Thanks!!! I will!!! My dad talks a lot about you lol. I also no a lot of great places to get free legos and mindstorm pieces for free at my makerspace or on ebay. Anyways I hope you have fun!!! By the way I do designs in cad for laser cutting and 3D printing all the time. I did that way before I owned a 3D printer. Thanks!!!
Had a read of this thread
Had a read of this thread because it looked interesting and then wanted to look at the Printer you recommended.
OMG - I have been looking at Prusa i3 printers for a while now and all the decent kits are all around £280. Just looked at the Anet A8 Prusa i3 on GearBest and can’t believe the price - £133.76 (Sale Price).
All the specs look good (Hot Bed, build size) but it does not look to have auto leveling?
Also this is an Acrylic Framed Printer - I was looking for Aluminium as I heard Acrylic are not stable?
P.S. Sorry for hijacking your thread
