2.4Ghz Wireless/Bluetooth Tri-Trak & Brat - Lavbiew

As part of our university project, were using a Tri-trak (with wireless PS2) & a Brat Robot. We’re also using a National Instruments DaNI which is programmed using LabView.

Our aim is to integrate the robots using a LabView interface on a PC using Bluetooth connections. We’re considering purchasing Bluesmirf modules to add bluetooth connectivity to the Brat & Tri-Trak. Has anyone been successful with this before?

Secondly, our Tri-Trak has a wireless PS2 controller which uses 2.4Ghz. Does anyone know what protocol this uses? I was wondering if we could save money and use this wireless connection rather than bluesmirf. My only concern is what PC hardware we would need to communciate with the Tri-trak and whether this is supported by LabView.

Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Richard.

I believe there have been several robots that were able to get BT to work. Including some of the Blu SMiRF units. I am sure there have been several connected directly up to SSC-32. Don’t know about how many hooked up to different MicroControllers…

As for PS2. There are several locations to get information on the PS2. The one I normally go to is: store.curiousinventor.com/guides/ps2

As for communication with PC, several options. Could use BT, or XBee, or WIFI…
