2.4Ghz Radio Control Modules and How To Use Them

Hi;

I have been researching some Radio Control solutions for a project that needs manual and autonomous control.

Can someone help me with these nrf24L01 modules. I found this article on Instructables which shows how to turn a 4 channel RC Transmitter into 8 Channel using an Arduino and the nrf24L01 modules. 

What confused me was in his parts list he only lists one module. I then started looking into these modules in more detail and I think (please confirm) that you need two - one in the Controller and one in the Robot and they talk to eachother? 

Can you change the frequency on these or is it just the channel that you change to avoid interfence with other 2.4Ghz systems?

Pair

Indeed - you need a pair: one for the transmitter, and the other as a receiver. Even if you modify the frequency within 2.4 to 2.5GHz, it’s still a widely used band. Those modules are incredibly inexpensive so more and more content is being generated around them, but they still take some skill to implement.
