2.4 mhz device compatibilty

Hi:

Can I use 2.4 MHz RC with PS2 controller and wifi cameras?

Thanks,

Lawrence

I’m going to assume you meant 2.4Ghz…
Just because a device is “2.4Ghz” doesn’t mean it knows how to talk to anything other than what it was designed for. Meaning, a wireless PS2 controller will only talk to its RX, a wireless 2.4Ghz camera will probably only talk to its RX, etc…

2.4Ghz is a radio frequency that the FCC handed over to the hobbyist, its also used for WiFi, Bluetooth, Xbee… If you’re wanting to use these devices together in close proximity the results are going to be pretty unpredictable as devices could interfere with each other…

Going further, the bluetoth, wifi, etc. comms are very sophisticated. The scan the band and chose free channels. They even hop from several channels to ensure no interference. The PS2 controller uses one of 4 channels at start up and does not change.

Jim,

Is it possible to use two Bluetooth devices in close proximity and reasonably expect them to work?

not my area of “expertise” but id assume that several Bluetooth devices would hold a pretty reasonable connection without interference due to the binding or sync that two devices choose when connecting.

i mean iv never picked up anyone else’s phone calls in my car over the Bluetooth. that would be interesting though. lol

Yes, Bluetooth is designed to work in close proximity to other Bluetooth devices.
