RobotShop is proud to announce that Gordon McComb will become a regular contributor on the RobotShop Blog. Gordon McComb is most widely known as a writer and editor of technology books and articles. He has written over 65 books and thousands of magazine articles and newspaper columns during his 36 years as a professional author, and Make Magazine has called him the "Father of Hobby Robotics". The Robot Builder's Bonanza, now in its fourth edition, helped enthusiasts of all ages get started in robotics, with no prior experience. With the rise in popularity of Arduino, Gordon also wrote Arduino Robot Bonanza which helps the reader get started with Arduino using illustrated, step-by-step construction instructions and assembly plans. His first series of posts here will allow you to design, build and customize your own inexpensive "Deskbot Pal" - a robotic animated desktop friend which uses an Arduino, servos and sensors. It is explained so that people who are entirely new to robotics will feel comfortable with the steep by step instructions.
