Marathon Robotics Marathon Robotics has developed some special Segway robots for training snipers in the Department of Defence in Australia. The Segways are especially adapted for military exercises, moving and responding virtually like humans. They move autonomously, can avoid obstacles at the last minute, go into houses and even hide out. When a sniper shoots a segway robot (for example, a potential terrorist), the bust drops down then later returns to position all by itself. When one Segway is hit, the other robots automatically hide. The use of the prototypes by Marathon Robotics is therefore ideal for service men and women who want to train in a semi-real combat situation with different possible scenarios. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNoJrIOREeo via engadget
