iFeel_IM: a Robotic Vest for the virtual world

Posted on 07/04/2010 by vabry
Robotic Vest A couple of researchers based in Japan have invented a robotic vest which can transpose human emotions into virtual worlds, like Second Life for example. The iFeel_IM allows the feeling of reality to be intensified in virtual gaming worlds and also shows the other people involved your true emotions. An avatar has never seemed so alive. The vest measures the player's heartbeat, body heat and fear. The prototype can detect and communicate joy, anxiety and anger in 90% of cases. And honesty, shame, guilt, disgust, interest and surprise in 80% of situations. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y84XbpDUVxc via physorg and gizmowatch
