This guide will explain how to replace the drive wheel on a
Roomba Discovery 4XXX/4XX series, pictured below:
11.1 Drive Wheel Replacement
Roomba replacement drive wheel can be found at RobotShop.
Removal Phase
1 -
Remove the wheel spring from the side motor holder.
2 -
Remove the side charging socket.
3 - Unscrew the side motor holder.
4 - Remove the wheel connection from the motherboard.
5 -
Unscrew the two screws which hold the wheel in place. Remove the wheel holders From the underside of the robot (they should fall off when unscrewed). Remove the wheel.
Assembly Phase
1 - Place the replacement wheel in its socket.
2 -
Place the wheel holders correctly under the wheel motor assembly.
3 - Screw in the two screws that hold the wheel in place.
4 - Correctly place the side charging plug in its socket.
5 - Install the casing holder correctly at its place.
6 - Connect the wheel motor connector to the motherboard.
7 - Install and screw the side motor holder in place.
8 - Place the spring correctly on the side motor holder. You are now done.
