The
Carnegie Mellon University soccer robots (USA) use
physical science to score goals in soccer.
The soccer player robots that are competing in
RoboCup 2010 in Singapore use the principles of physics which predict the ball's behavior.
Soccer robots don't only analyze their own movements but also those of their opponents as well as the game (position, speed, etc.) which constantly changes.
Manuela Veloso, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon who manages the two RoboCup teams says that the university's intelligent robots
could even surprise them.
When will a soccer player robot be capable of dribbling like Ronaldhino?
