We are excited to give you a pre-launch glimpse into the upcoming Professional Servo Erector Set from Lynxmotion. The new PRO system currently comprises three servos: two of which share similar physical characteristics, but differ in terms of maximum torque, speed and weight. The third actuator is the largest and offers the highest torque. These advanced robotic actuators cater to a wide range of applications from advanced hobbyist projects to professional use-cases.
These servos are the foundation of the next-generation Lynxmotion Servo Erector Set Professional (S.E.S. PRO) modular robotic construction system. A range of accessories have been designed around them. The term "smart" refers to the user-modifiable and configurable parameters of each servo, onboard sensor feedback, and the ability to connect to a computer, microcontroller, or any device with CAN communication.
The custom PRO LSS serial communication protocol, built upon the LSS & SSC-32 / 32U protocol, simplifies communication, control, and configuration of these PRO servos, making them intuitive to use. This protocol is human-readable and can be implemented by users with limited programming experience.
They represent a significant evolution of the Lynxmotion Smart Servo (LSS) hobby series of actuators, offering enhanced power and precision for a broad spectrum of more professional applications. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the official launch date by clicking “Notify Me” on each product page. We're eager to see the innovative solutions you'll develop!

At launch, the PRO system will include the three actuators, a select number of brackets and connectors, but additional modules and mechanics such as a gripper, brackets are planned in order to create a wider variety of robotic designs.
The LSS-P-L1, the lightest in the Lynxmotion PRO series, is an advanced robotic actuator featuring strain wave gearing coupled to a high torque NEMA 14 stepper motor. With built-in electronics that include sensor feedback and absolute positioning, it allows for daisy-chaining of multiple servos. The LSS-P-L1 is an ideal choice for semi-professional or professional multi degree-of-freedom robot arms, animatronics, and research projects. Estimated retail price: ~$1,000 USD.
