201 Robotics Trophies

Planet-Science's Robotics Trophies have been held annually in France since 1993 (except in 2006 when they were held in Belgium). Participants are aged between 7 and 18 years, in teams of two (driver and co-driver), and their mission is to build wire-controlled play robots. The focus and learning revolve around mechanics, electricity, computers and electronics. The theme for 2010 is the world in all its forms. The teams have 6 months to prepare and they compete in tournaments in which they must perform specific actions, focusing on the technology used and the skill of the pilot. Important Dates: Regional Meetings: - February 27, 2010: at the Charlie Chaplin center in Vaulx-en-Velin, a meeting organized by Planète Sciences Rhone-Alpes, February 27-28, 2010: in Hirson, a meeting organized by Planète Sciences Picardie and PASS - March 6, 2010: at the Cité de l'Espace in Toulouse, a meeting organized by Planète Sciences Midi-Pyrenees - March 6, 2010: at the ESJ Ollioules, a meeting organized by Planète Sciences Méditerranée - March 20, 2010: at the Parc des Exposition d'Angers (exhibition park of Angers), a meeting organized by Planète Sciences Sarthe - March 20, 2010: in Rennes, a meeting organized by Planète Sciences Britain - No specific date yet for the Paris region, but a meeting will take place organized by Planète Sciences, Ile-de-France The National Finals of the Robotics Trophies will be held at the Amiens Coliseum on April 4 and 3, 2010.
