I bought my open air litter robot January of 2017. Had not issues until the last 3 weeks. It constantly flashes yellow after a cycle and during a cycle it constantly stops and flashes yellow. I e unplugged it multiple times to get it to reset. This doesn’t work. It’s not against a wall or blocked in any way. I checked for blockages in he drawer and around Bonnet and everything is fine. When it completes a cycle and still flashes yellow the only way to get it to go back to blue and ready is to tap the step sensor or manually touch reset. And this lasts for a little while
Until it flashes yellow again for no reason. Any ideas? I find it odd that the the yellow light will stop flashing after the step is tapped. Wondering if the two are connected in anyway , malfunctioning sensor or something like that?
Based on the description of the yellow light blinking while the cycle has been interrupted, please follow the troubleshooting below to determine whether the issue is due to excess weight, the bonnet connection, or the Anti-Pinch safety feature:
*The blinking yellow light will switch to blinking red after 2 minutes if the cat sensor (CATS) has been continuously activated by excess weight. Please remove excess weight and check your unit for the following:
The litter is above the fill line or in excess of 10lbs.
The cat sensor has not been reset after adding weight
The waste drawer has too much weight
The unit is sitting on an uneven surface - grout lines on tile floor or in a bathtub.
The unit is pushed into a corner, against a wall, or furniture
Objects are resting or pressing on the unit
If the yellow light is blinking once per second:
Press the ‘Power’ button to turn the unit OFF.
Remove the bonnet and set it aside, then manually rotate the globe to the Home position.
Ensure the globe is on the track and lock the black key on the back of the globe into the pocket.
Replace the bonnet, ensuring all 4 tabs are secured.
Press the ‘Power’ button to turn the unit back ON.
**The globe will not rotate and the yellow light will blink if the issue is due to the bonnet connection. Please check that the key is fully inserted into the slot and that all 4 bonnet tabs are connected to the base of the unit. The globe begins rotating counterclockwise with the solid yellow light on. After several seconds, press the ‘Reset’ button to pause the cycle.
While the cycle is paused, press ‘Reset’ again to cancel the cycle and return to Home position.
***The globe will stop and reverse direction for 2 seconds before stopping with the yellow light blinking fast if the Anti-Pinch safety feature has been activated. Your base will need to be repaired.
The globe will return to Home position with the solid blue light on when properly functioning.
If the yellow light is blinking twice per second:
The Anti-Pinch safety feature is two pin connected to the motherboard that must touched each other continuously.
If they are separated, you will have an alarm(yellow blinking light). The Anti-Pinch safety is located in the top back left of the Litter-Robot base. You will need to unplug the unit, remove the bonnet, the globe and the drawer.
It is ‘‘Two Metal’’ pin. With a flash light, you should be able to see if they are touching each other or not. If they are not touching each other, try to re-position it with a flat screw driver by pushing them upwards.
I still have yellow light flashing issue after cleaning the rusty metal.
My issue is sometimes the LED showed flashing yellow light when the globe is rotating. But it stopped after few seconds and yellow light was flashing every second. I didnt do anything and then it started rotating again after 10 to 20 secon, then it stopped again and yellow light also flashed again. It occurred repeatly during the cycle, sometimea the cycle was completed. Sometimes was not.
I tried the trouble shooting guide. It always perfectly completed the cycle after turing off the power and manually rotate the globe to home poaition. But the issue will come again maybe after 3 or 4 cyclea.
I upgraded LR Connect kit and new DFI recently. I also checked anti pinch senaor. The yellow light issue still persisted. What can I do now???
The yellow light was blinking during rotation.
Then it rotated again after waiting 20 or 25 seconds, but it stopped very soon.
Then it rotated again but always stopped immediately…
My cat didn’t come into the globe. I didn’t touch it neither.
Follow these steps to help you identify the issue:
-Test if the night light is interrupting your cycle. Cover the light sensor which is located under the power button. If the night light turns on and the cycle is interrupted, then your bonnet needs to be replaced.
I have followed steps and LR worked fine when I covered the light sensor. So the only possible problem is connection of metals between bonnet and base, right?
Hi, I got the same problem as topic starter. Already contacted Litter Robot, but they send me here.
I have an yellow light blinking fast. I followed the steps that are suggested above. I already checked the whole robot to see if something is stuck. The robot is not in a corner or touching the wall or something. I cleaned the inside + the sensors + the metals (which are not rusty).
When I press reset, the blue light is blinking. The waste bag is empty and I pressed it down, so that the sensors won’t pick it up. But nothing helps.
Also tried a hard reset by unplugging the robot for an hour and then put it back in. Won’t work either.
