Ive been apart of this forum for a while now and ive learned alot from the people here.
Well i had one particular thread asking for help in solving the inverse kinematics which had a lot of good information. Now all that info and comments are all gone. Looks like im asking questions from myself. Every single comment made by anyone but me is gone.
Then i got curious and checked all my threads and they are all that way.
So whats going on? Whats the point if all the info is gonna disappear? And ive noticed theres not alot of traffic either.
Some members left,and/or their content was removed, comments included.Of course discussion with comments deleted don’t make sense, so most discussions were cleaned.
Several weeks ago there was quite a bit of discussion about RobotShop’s purchasing LMR. Unfortunately certain members chose to leave and requested that their content be removed. This is not an ideal turn of events but the dust has settled and RobotShop is looking forward to helping the LMR community grow and prosper.
Thats terrible and so Thats terrible and so wrong!!! I dont understand why people would delete thier old posts. Sounds kinda A-holey to me but oh well.
So whats wrong with robot shop that these people decided to leave?
LMR has essentially remained the same as before with very few changes. It’s not worth going into the arguments raised as they can be found in other threads here. Any major changes / improvements which will be put in place will be run by the community to get feedback.
I do like the forum I do like the forum improvements. Before i would make a thread in general discussion and if i accidently X’d it out on my browser i couldnt find it, I would have to log in then go to my account and click pages. Now i can actually find my posts.
I’m quite disappointed that the comments by former members have been removed. They were freely given and in my opinion they were directed at the author of the original article. If anyone wants the replies deleted it should be:
LMR if the comment was inappropiate in general.
The author because he/she felt it was in their opinion inappropiate to the thread.
If anything, LMR could change the repliers name to something like Anon or Departed so that their identity remains hidden.
I do agree with removing articles at the authors request. Just not from someone elses work. I thinks this could be added to the terms and conditions so that it will not happen again.
indeed something strange happening. Not much interest here. I also found some of my forum posts has some valuable answers by senior members, but now they disappeared and only my post like no reply…So I had to remove the post because no point. Is it because Instructables & Hackaday are now offering rewards and prizes to attract participation ?
It is interesting what you point and I think most of the answer is already below about past situations in LMR.
Regarding your questions on the forum activity, I see activity from many users in different topics in the forum so maybe you can invite them from the Shout Box to check your questions, or from other websites/social media linking to your question in the forum…
Finally, I found very rare you didn´t publish any robot yet, are you preparing anything special? With all the knowledge and experience you show in your forum posts I’m sure you have some good robots and parts to show. Thanks!
