What to choose? Premade Chassis with treads or make my own chassis

Hey LMR, I cannot decide if I want to get a premade chassis or make my own chassis. I am deciding between getting this:

And making my own chassis/robot with these:

I am using a custom control board NOT THE ARDUINO, unlike what the first kit is made for. If I make my own it may not be as precise as the chassis kit, but if I buy the chassis kit it is not too customizeable. Any help as what to pick?

Wow, as much as that tank it looks nice, it seems a bit pricy…

Though considering the price of the tread/motor kit and finding/building a chasis yourself, it could come out to be around that price. you also have to consider the tools to allow you to do this/ drills, cutting tools, grinding and filing down sharp edges.

 

Last thing, the motor set that you selected is a low voltage setup, you’ll want to consider that as well ias it may not fit your needs depending on full component load(actual weight).
