what is normal walking speed? 3 miles per hour? You should have a conversion from in/sec to miles per hour.

@Bob Since robots don’t move at high speeds, we used the in/sec unit. You can easily convert in/sec to mph knowing that 1 in/sec = 0.0568mph

what is significant about using 60 as a multiplier here?

@andrew Minutes >-> Seconds

I’d like to achieve 30+ inches per second using a 12V 120 RPM DC Motor 64:1, and 5 inch omni wheels. One motor for (X) direction, another for (Y) direction. I’d like the gross payload to be around 20kg. Is this too much for those motors?

@Steven You did not mention the torque which the motors can provide. Note that a payload of 20Kg is quite high.

I’m using the RB-Nex-30. Currently using 60mm wheels to achieve approximately 14 inches per sec., but was curious if the motors could handle 5" wheels.

@Steven Holman It will depend on the weight of the robot.

vehicle speed is the max???

@SUMI The vehicle speed simply corresponds with how fast the motor is rotating. If you enter the motor’s maximum speed, that will give the vehicle’s maximum speed.
