I’ve learned something as well. I know the settings can effect programming speed and reliability, but I did not know the settings could stop the programming process dead in it’s tracks. What did you have to change the settings to, if you don’t mind me asking?
Glad you got it going! 8)
hi,
The deciding factor was the latency timer. It was defaulted at 16 in the advanced port settings. Basically I put the latency timer and USB transfer sizes (receive and transmit) to their minimuns. And hey presto!
After reading eddie’s reply I reset the USB transfer size back to default and left the latency Timer at 1. This also worked. I did some trial and error with the latency timer and found any value after 4 stopped communicating altogether. So I left it at 1, as stated in your hints and tips this seems to be the fastest.
Haven’t gone any further with it yet but was wondering the fastest way to transfer BS2 programs into basic micro IDE, copy and paste? I dont need to transfer them all. In fact only a few!
Thanks.
You can certainly do cut and paste, but make absolutely sure the extension is BAS, or the Program button may go grey on you… Another little gotcha is, the IDE saves the program when you click Program, so be careful with cut and paste then program before saving as a new filename.
