ssc-ng

Eh, I PM’ed ya! lol

WOW I have never seen so many dimensions! It almost covers the design! :open_mouth:

I’m on it!

Yeah, that’s the trouble! There are a LOT of things that need dimensions, and I’m assuming a symmetrical layout, so a lot of dimensions are “assumed”. Lotta arcs!

It’s a little easier when going to CNC, I don’t HAVE to put all the dimensions on the drawing, but I need at least some for reference. In fact, I basically “strip down” an initial drawing, making a second drawing with just a few dimensions, like overall an a few measurements to fiduciary markers, and generate the Gcode from that. Less cluttered!

The CAD/CAM program “knows” what all the dimensions are from the drawing. Numbers on the drawing are just for humans!

EDIT: Here’s a simplified drawing with a BB2/SSC-32 cutout:

Jim, will we still be able to buy the ssc32 from you ?

Um, oh my! We sure hijacked the heck out of your thread.

The current set of Bot board II and SSC-32 are going nowhere any time soon. We will be adding lots of controller options but the core will remain available.

Ok great because the ssc32 as is, has lots of flexibility and is very reliable. Also, all the existing software over the years for the ssc32 can stay the same and not require re-writing.

Jim - Yes the thread took on a life of its own !
