oh man… I am betting thats the SSOP that is next to those pins?
I have never had any success soldering those lol

As long as you don’t need to control more than 24 servos this should be an easy fix. Just move the servos to other pins and edit the pin reference in the code and do the calibrations.
yeah i did that already… but i was using most of them as i added a gripper arm with 6dof
ordered the parts and will try yo fix it
Ok guys… need a little advice now.
I got the chip, and pulled some of the pads taking off the burnt out chip. SOOOoooo those channels are now never coming back.
So I need advice on what to do. First a question…
I added a 6DOF arm to my CH3R… can I run those servos off the bot board II? and still run all the legs off the remaining channels on the SSC-32?
Here are the options then…
Setup SSC-32 for all legs, use pins on Bot Board II for the 6DOF arm. Will that mess with the timing of the code?
Buy a new SSC-32
Buy a different controller (ARC-32) or something else that has enough channels to run everything. If this option, which controller would you use?
How many servos in total do you need to control? 18 for the hex and 6 for the arm is 24 and thats what you’ve left on the ssc. The gripper could be controlled from the BB2.
Beside that a new SSC32 is the cheapest solution.
So it would be fine to control the arm with the BBII … got it
forget the cheapest solution… what is the best one?
How about this idea. I have a breakout board for a SSOP chip… I could put the chip on there then just solder wires to the pins directly?
would that work?
The best one is to buy another SSC32 , obviously the one you have is just going to cause you frustration, if you have a properly working SSC32 then you can follow the discussions easier because your not continuously converting code for your pin setup and who knows …maybe another area of the busted ass board you got will blow anyways …the boards are inexpensive, what like $39.00 bucks or so, you could collect bottles or better yet the guys around my area stand at the intersection and rake in $75 to $100 per day
But seriously I personally would buy another board mainly because I like my bot to run smoothly the way the tutorials are laid out then I hack and modify from there. But hey, each to their own and if soldering and rewiring is your thing then have at 'er, I might learn something from your efforts.
