Speakjet with TTS256

So how’s the SpeakJet working? Was there a BB2 stack-able board in the works?

I think I need to add it to my MicroMoose!

I’ve been on robot-hiatus this month. Too many carbon-based projects (people) to deal with right now. I’m getting my “pile 'o parts” under control, soon I’ll be ready to dive in again. My 2 major projects need to be finished off - Arc32 hex with the Speakjet installed, and sensor-heavy TriTrack.

I do have a second Speakjet (somewhere), and if I can get all the parts to play well together it’ll get installed on the TriTrack. I’ve also got a pair of the Pololu IR beacons, one for each bot, so they can find each other. Those are still in the packaging, so I’m not anywhere near getting THAT done. If I can get them both mobile and chatting (via Speakjet) I’ll consider that a victory.
The Arc32 hex has an EEPROM mini-board from Futurlec mounted in the head which I plan on using for some extensive vocabulary - mostly insults and derogatory comments, but I’ve been thinking it might be useful for feedback in troubleshooting, or self-diagnosis. Just a thought right now…

Looks like getting a TTS256 will have to wait until next year, and maybe the next project. Assembling and tweaking the phrases for the Speakjet, and getting them stored properly on the EEPROMs, could be a large undertaking. Four 32k EEPROMs can hold alot of phrases, and that’s ALOT of tweaking. It is good to not have to worry about having enough storage space, though.

Now, what shall be the first words?..
“Do your own damn repetitive tasks!”

“Sounds” like you’re way ahead of me!

I’ve got three parts on order, the SpeakJet, SounGin and the TTS256. I’m trying to put all three on a 3" x 2.3" ARC-32/BBII sized board.

I’d really like proper Eagle library files for the three parts. I can use a PIC18F1230 symbol and footprint for the first two, but I don’t know what kind of chip (Cypress?) the TTL256 is. Any one know, or have the symbol/footprint library files?

What happened to the LynxMotion (?) sound board?
