Servos not "smooth" during operation

Hie all. I am currently making a robot arm for my explorer robot :

The problem is when i power up the arm, it violently moves to the  "upright" position and there is a lot of buzzing in the gripper and wrist servo when i'm not lifitng anything. the arm is able to lift a quite a bit and is very light. 

I am powering the arm with an 8Amp servo power supply and its being controlled by arduino and xbee.  Here is the arm all done now :) I have also included a link to the video showing some testing here:

Any idea on how to eliminate buzzing and a get a "smooth soft" start? All suggestions welcome

1. Servos Don’t like ripples
1. Servos Don’t like ripples in DC, they need pure DC to operate smoothly (Which I suppose the servo supply is giving anyway)
2. Cheap Servos are jittery
3. When not given any input for position ,servos jitter a lot. What happens is that microcontrollers start themselves and then they pass the signal for position to the servos. In the interval servos go berserk. One way to stop this I think is to put a (electronic(High Power FETS)/physical) to make the servos initialize later than the uC itself.
4.Buzzing can also be caused by the load exceeding servo specs…

The thing is that the buzzing servos are not even under load and don’t buzz when loaded. strange. i’llt try something then i’ll give yo an update
