I tried to use this sabertooth esc RB-Dim-30, with a Lesu rc skid steer. The motors turn but the red light often turns on. Part of the initial wires were 22awg which they got hot. I changed them with 20awg and no heat problem but red light is still turning on. I tried with a 2s lipo and 3s lipo. Only dip switch 3 has been changed to lithium.
Instruction says it means overeating or current limit. The unit is not hot, so could it be that the motors pull too much amps.
Further testing, I replaced the motor red and black wires and still red light. But if I use alligator wires (one foot) between the sabertooth and motor wires, not red light. Dimension Engineering suspect a short in the motor, which the sabertooth can detect.
