Robotic Arm Pancake baking system

Hello,
I’m newbie ,it is my first time i have been doing cnc work for a while I’m comfortable with cnc programing and G code stuff, but i had always wanted to do something with robot and have no idea how it works and recently got a catalyst robotic arm CRS 5 from a friend and i thought this could be a great chance to start making myself familiar with robotic arm manipulation .
The CRS 5 Catalyst express was made for scientist to automate the transfer of microtiter plates between instruments and storage units the CRS an integrated package that makes it easy for researcher to automate the loading and unloading of several, microtiter plate based instrument
Now what i wanted to do with is that, if i can (Modify) turn it to a robotic pancake backing machine by integrating the system with baking oven and all sort of sensor and what have you. I have only the robotic arm and user manual downloaded from the internet.
As i mentioned earlier i have no idea where to start. I am seeking expertise from forum members who can contribute and share knowledge.

Hello @Obhur and welcome to the forum!

I don’t know much about the CRS 5 Catalyst arm nor about pancake backing machines but it does sound like a cool project. Maybe the How to Make a Robot tutorial series can help you a little.

I also suggest going to the Robots section where lots of members of the community share their robotic creations, there are really cool projects there that might give you some inspiration.

Once you have a clearer plan about what you want to achieve you can give us more details so we can help you with the choice of sensors (if you want) or if you need more assistance.

Good luck with your project!
