Hello, I’m a first time poster here, and not sure if this is the right forum or not please direct me elsewhere.
I would like to implement a small robot to push the start stop lever on a turntable in both directions, up and down, To be controlled by an iPhone based app. There is a simple “fingerbot” sold on Amazon for $30 that can be placed to push the lever in one direction or another, but not both. The arm of this device extends 12 mm which is just enough to push the lever, but the device needs to be placed right next to it, so would not be possible to place these bots on both sides of the lever.
Any ideas for inexpensive off the shelf solutions?
If I understood correctly, you want to control this Start/Stop button:
If these two fingerbots cannot fit these, one option is to attach a servo motor to the button and then connect it to the controller programmed so it has two positions based on the inputs from the app. However, you would need to do some hardware wiring and programming.
I see there are a lot of examples of simple projects where servo motor is controlled from the iOS app:
Here is a picture of The lever I want to be able to push, approximately 1/2 inch in each direction, controlled via Bluetooth from an app on my phone. It would be great if the Device or battery powered and very compact. Again, a device like this fingerbot with twice the range of motion, and reversible direction, would be perfect. Any ideas?.
