Basically, I want to link a Picaxe 14m and 28x1 for data transmission, and im thinking of using these.
First off, I have no clue as to how I would go about wiring these to the Picaxes.
Second, some help with the programming would be nice as well (I'll specify my questions later, as I'm sure there will be plenty of them :) ).

You sure you want to use those units?
First off, they are 3.3v devices so you would have to level shift everything as the picaxe runs at 5v. Next, it uses SPI as an interface. This is not a big deal I guess, but it is not very commonly done with a picaxe and will not let you take advantage to all the features you get with the Hser commands and regular serial communication.
Any reason you would be against X-bees or “regular” $5 RF units?

I have no opposition to other RF units, but the xbees are a little out of my budget right now… would you mind posting a link to one of those RF units?
