Looking to provide an intern a cost effective robotics project.
Would need to manipulate USB sticks, load, plug…
Would like a Java API to manage the processes.
Any suggestions?

Hello @Jimwhelan_jr and welcome to the forum.
I don’t know how much money you would like to spend, but since you mentioned Java, here is one suggestion:
https://www.robotshop.com/en/svenzva-robotics-revel-6-dof-robotic-arm.html
This is a good quality but low-cost robotic arm which can be controlled by using ROS, Python, Java, Matlab, and Labview.
The Revel Robot Arm was specifically designed to be flexible and easily modifiable for custom solutions while maintaining advanced software features. This gives universities, educators and small businesses the tools that would allow them to integrate robotics into their operations
Also, you can explain us more about your requirements for manipulating USB sticks, loads, plugs. What did you mean by that?
I saw its details and I its quite affordable as we all know that Matlab is a very power full tool which is easily for free
@JohnArmwood I still think it’s a lot of money overall, but at the end you get a Robot Arm with 6 degrees of freedom made of high quality aluminium and availability to control it with different programming languages!
Who has the money, I would definitely recommend it
If someone is looking for such kind of robot I will definitely going to suggest this one, as it is quite affordable.
