If I could get the following informations, please: -

  1. Does REACH+ connect with iPhone, if so what could be position accuracy?

Hello @sakhtar and welcome to the RobotShop community,

  1. Does REACH+ connect with iPhone, if so what could be position accuracy?

Can you specify which device you are referring to? Reach RS/RS+?

ReachView 3 allows to control Reach RS/RS+ receivers with iOS or Android devices. Using the app, you can access your receiver over Wi-Fi network, set it up for the survey and collect and stake out points.

The position accuracy depends on the device you choose. The specifications can be found on the product description.

  1. Is there any instruction/ tutorial on how to connect with iPhone?

Yes, you can find it here:

https://docs.emlid.com/reachrs/reachview-3/introduction-to-reachview-3

REACH+ is one-time cost or it requires a subscription?

The device is “one time cost”, however depending on the application you may or may not need a subscription to a service. For example, if you want RTK corrections you either need two devices (rover and base) or one device and a subscription to a NTRIP service. Depending on where you are planning on using the device you could use Emlid’s free NTRIP caster, however, if the area isn’t “supported” you would need to subscribe to a different NTRIP provider.

Thanks @geraldinebc15 for insight. I’ll expand a bit further since I am not a GIS specialist or surveyor. I want to use REACH M+ unit to collect field points with my iPhone in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario (Canada). To do so, want to confirm that I need only the following items: -

  1. REACH M+ unit
  2. Tallysman GNSS antenna for Reach M+
  3. ReachView 3 app installed and sync with REACH M+ unit
  4. Internet connection
  5. NTRIP caster service. I have asked EMLID if their free caster service cover the main areas of these provinces.
With this equipment and setup, I shall be able to collect points in the field with sub feet accuracy? or their are some other caveats which I shall be considering?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

Hi @sakhtar
Yes, you will only need those items.

With this equipment and setup, I shall be able to collect points in the field with sub feet accuracy? or their are some other caveats which I shall be considering?

This will depend on the maximum distance between “base” and rover, also knows as baseline.

Reach M+ and M2 have these specs:

And the accuracy can be calculated with the positioning specs. For M+ they are:

  • Static: H: 5mm + 1ppm, V: 10mm + 2ppm
  • Kinematic: H: 7mm + 1ppm, V: 14mm + 2ppm

You can find more information about this here:
