Thank you
Well, thank you guys for your encouragement.
I’ m going to try a new gearing because its going a bit to fast, and doesn’ t have enough torque to clim steep sand hills without stalling wich heats the cables and ruins the batteries… Add to that the weight its taking so fast!
All this means work to do again.
I hope I can share a little video next weekend.
UPDATE 6/08/2011
NOTE THE 50A SWITCH ON THE BACK AND THE HOOKS ON THE TOP
HIGH GUAGE CABLES PROPERLY CONNECTED
SMALLER SPROCKETS ON THE MOTORS FOR MORE TORQUE
The update looks nice.
The update looks nice. Hoping for a video soon. It is so fun to see tracked vehicles on the moved.
How do you drive the motors?
How do you drive the motors? do you use relays?
nice work btw, i’m looking forward.
Yeah, mine has same problem
Yeah, mine has same problem too. It’s too fast but doesn’t have enough power to go up hill. We need to sacrifice the speed for power. Your chassis still have room to modify but mine is too late. Swap those 2 sprocket should get better result.
Hi Alexis
Thank you.
I’ m using a Sabertooth 2X25A, small, light, and so simple to use! Plug the batterie, the two motors, the radio signal and you’r done.
I used relays for the other robot, its rough driving.
Looking good!Even with the
Looking good!
Even with the reduced drive sprocket size, it looks like it has more speed than torque. It showed on the hills. Always a trade-off, of course.
Great project. Thanks so much for sharing your experience.
P.S. - Early in the video, when you have the robot’s-eye-view going through the grass, there are times that an ant or other small insect can be seen running around on the top of the robot. ; j
