Rc surveillance boat

Well I was speaking of ROV becuase the design of the hull will not be boat like but more of a boxed hull (like an ROV) with cameras looking into the water and above eliminating the need of coastguards or for police investigation (science fair project).

It will generally act as a small radio controlled boat but with sensore (like pressure sensors and humidity sensors) so it could also tell if a storm or bad weather is ahead.

The body will be clear lexan, which will house lights and cameras and the electronics.

I dont know if it is easier to control the boat with airplane out of the water propellers and some rudders inside or outside of the water to steer the baot or propellers underwater with rudders inside the water as well.

thx.

Maybe u could take a clear lexan dome ( no clue where u would find one btw) have a camera mounted on a pivot at the bottom inside the domemuntedonsome sort of servo powered slider system just below the rim of the dome, then have a prop and a motor attached at 4 points around the midway mark of the dome vertically, and keep all ur batteries and electronics in the bottom to giv it more stability, then take a nother dome and fix it to the top of the old one but make it water tight, and attach a pivot assembly with a camera to the inside of the top of that, and then u have complete veiw of everywhere outside the bot!!! Then take program it so that it operates from a pc and u can control all 3 cams individually, and u cood use a joy stick to move it, and the motors all mounted at quarter points around the dome, could just operate at different speeds/directions to produce the desired direction of movement!!! :pant: :pant: out of cyber breath… any questions just pm me and I will try to explain better

Ya, I could get one of those little domes from a “trouble” board game (if you remeber those) and then have the camera attached to a servo that does 360 revolutions and have panoramic view of my suroundings… thats neat. :open_mouth:

I kinda ment the entire ot would be a big bubble…

OOOOOOOH :open_mouth:

it would be pretty sweet I think, i mean it is a very mobile platform that could observe many things

I want to build this, but im finding it difficult to know how to keep everything water proof! arent there motors meant for going under water??

In the link I supplied the guy was using bilge pumps as thrusters.

awwwww…i have no idea how do to this…

I would just get some 150-250 rpm motors and pass the shafts through o-rings with O-ring lube, like this

yea, thats wat i was going to suggest to him, and also, you could always, in stead of a rudder, just turn the right motor on forward and left on reverse to take a left turn, and vise versa for a right turn
