@PlanePilot. I have the same board and that given chip you are pointing out with the toothpick gets also very hot on mine. Can’t touch it neither. But only when the USB is plugged in which I find odd. But my understanding is that is is normal. I don’t have LEDs problem though. I just thought I should mention that.
