What is causing the noise coming from the plug of new power lead for litter robot 3

Could you describe this noise?
Is it a brand new genuine Litter-Robot 3 power supply adapter?
Did you try using a different wall power outlet?

Yes tried different outlet. Just the same noise coming from the plug. Not sure if safe to continue using. Going to contact litter robot themselves to see if they have heard of this before. But would appreciate another being sent as a matter of urgency (safety).

Most power conversion devices contains coils, such as transformers or inductors. These components use electromagnetism to convert AC mains power to low-voltage DC power. The varying magnetic fields generated by these components can cause them to physically vibrate at high frequency, resulting in a high-pitched noise.
