you have Voltage and Amps, your controller and servos need 5V and some good Amps, i recommend 4 Amps.
If you connect to Car Charger (12V) does not mean you will have more Amps, basically the car charger step downs 12v to 5V and limits the current to 1A because is what’s needed to charge cell phones.
If you connect to a power outlet (110v) using a power supply does not mean it will be more powerful.
You need to look for a 5V power supply with >= 4Amps.
Like i said 5V/1A (IPhone Charger) is not good, did you tried only one micro servo ? does it move ?
If you want to run from battery will need to buy:
1 x 7.4v Lipo Battery
1 x Lipo Charger
1 x Step-down DC-DC Converter 5V Module with 4A output
I would recommend first to get a power supply to test the controller unit, servos etc, and only then if it works as expected, i would try the Lipo version.
bear in mind Lipo batteries need some care, i advise you to read about them.
OK that makes much more sense, thank you! I will try the micro servo again on the different chargers and see if anything works. I don’t think it did.
I’m just thinking outside the box. I know it wouldn’t run it “long” but what about simple batteries somehow MacGuyvered? I’m seeing a single AA puts out around 2.4A?
No, it will not power the micro servo. It makes ticking noises and you can hear gears a little, but nothing moves
you can try but:
if you use 4 x 1.5v regular AA batteries (2.3 mAH) is 6V can be too much for the controller (5V), if you try 3 x 1.5 = 4.5 not enough
if you use 4 x 1.2v rechargeable AA batteries (1.9 mAH) is 4.8V, maybe can work but is only 1.9 mAH
I would try 4 rechargeable AA
THANK YOU!!! I will try both of these this evening and hope for the best!!! Hoping this will save my costume in time for my departure tomorrow morning!
