My Secret Project revealed, 4 foot, 100lb Mobile Assault

I really respect that you keep trying hard. Your a great robot builder.

Thank you. As are you.

How is your project going?

Very slowly.

Some of the other guys are working on the Turret locking setup. The majority of what is left wil remain so until I either find more funding or invest more of my own money into it. I haven’t quit. I have too much riding on it. I’m just overwelmed with other things right now and having alot of problems with some suppliers that promised they could handle more volume but apparently can’t.

Has evo abandoned us, will we never hear from him again?

LOL, I’m back.

MARV is nearly complete but due to the RCMP’s interest in it, there are non-disclosure issues with posting new pictures and details. I’ll see what I can do to get some more pics up.

OMG :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

HE LIVES!!!

we want more pictures >:V

btw, welcome back

YES, finally back eh? 8)

Yup, hopefully for good.

Don’t run away again!

Let’s tie him on his chair in front of the computer and the LM forum :smiling_imp:

mouhahaha!!!

LOL

I started this project last year for ISEF an international science fair. I placed thrid in the world. I can’t show any picture but if you want you can check it out on facebook, a group called Robot Place. No one joins because rarely I find friends into robots as much as me. Anyways, Italian_guy299 what science fair did you win? Thanks and I’ll try to keep in touch.

BASEF Science Fair of Hamilton, Dundas and Oakville, which got me a spot at the CWSF in Nova Scotia (last May). Placed 3rd in Automotive and HM in Engineering.

That thing is bloody amazing. We could do with some of them over here in Afghan. Just mount a 50 cal on top and send it off to spread the good news, hahaha.

But seriously could you get some pics posted. Also is it gonna be remote controlled or autonomous, or an option of both. As that thing could do some serious damage.

Also with some thermal imaging you could see potential enemy through walls and the like, then fire a powerful enough machine gun and you dont even need to do building clearance.

He cant get any pictures posted due to security reasons of some silly jazz like that :frowning:

im pretty sure its an option of both but im not entirley sure, because the tracking for the gun could be used either in a RC application or an autonomous application

The design is based around being remotely operated via a datalink. Autonomous operations would be possible but not with a live firing weapon or even a paintball gun. There are too many safety issues involved.

Autonomous reconnaissance with heat trace cameras would be possible though.

The turret itself is very unique. It uses a 2 axi gyro stabilizing system I designed specifically for this application. Once a target is locked, the turret will remain locked on regardless of the rovers orientation or movement. It also has an infinite 360 degrees of rotation made possible by a custom made electronic contact cam. This means the turret can spin in either direction as many times as you desire and there is nothing to tangle or twist.

I’m unable to post photos at the moment as the RCMP’s interest requires non-disclosure of the design details.

This means you’re making quite a deal with the RCMP’s. The pay must be good

Nothing carved in stone. There are alot of hoops to jump through before they will even let a constable give me the time of day and look at it.

I completely understand. There are a lot of proper channels you have to go through. My cousin is a cop for the Toronto Police and we were discussing all the kinds of robotic and electronic devices that are used by certain forces. I know its tough, but its one hell of a machine you have there! 8)
