Does any one know a good place to buy vacuum tube amp parts in Canada? For cheap, of course.

What motors do you guys use for your mini sumos? What motor controller? Do you use the ABB with an ATOM?

The ABB is as big as my entire robot!

My new sumo is going to use dual L293DD motor controllers on a custom surface mount board with an SX chip to run it all.

For motors, two 17:1 maxon planetary gear motors.

Well, I am about half way through the construction of Panter V2.0. I’ve been really busy but I’ll try and post a more detailed update as soon as possible. (with picture :slight_smile: )

I’d like to start building a mini-sumo after this years CNRG, Where can I get those maxon motors? Are they expensive?

Robotshop has them listed, but “out of stock” - might want to call them. BaneBots was the original supplier, but they no longer have them listed…

You can get them direct from Maxon, but its a pian and they have a $300 minimum order. You will have to do some searching, not many places have them left.

It has been a long time that you have not posted any comment. The idea which you have it itself a great. Though it needs a lot of appreciation. I am sure you would have completed your task of making a mini sumo robot. I am not a technical person so I cannot understand the materials you are going to use for the making of your creation. I am eager to know whether it has been made or not. If made, then I want to know how does it looks like and how does it works?

Yeah! Show us some pics of Panther. I saw it in person but seeing it in a picture let’s you gaze at the beauty of it all… Also helps me plan to make one that will beat it :laughing:
