That relay is overkill for this project, but will work. You control the Battelswitch or Picoswitch like a servo and there is a certain frequency of pulses over which it goes on. I belive over 1520 is on and less than 1480 is off.
I have an SSC-32 (how could I live without one?). Its currently incorporated into a science fair project. When its done, Ill have access to it.
Yes. I would suggest the BlueSMiRF without the built-in antenna, since I’ve used it and it gets about 100 ft range indoors with a moderately sized antenna. Any device that uses serial, ABB or SCC-32 would work with the BlueSMiRF sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=158 or the one you listed.
