Lynxmotion board power capability

Hi @cbenson

I’ve just ordered the following to work together:

  1. 2x https://www.robotshop.com/products/power-supply-output-6vdc-5a-input-100-240vac
  2. https://www.robotshop.com/products/lynxmotion-ssc-32u-usb-servo-controller
  3. https://www.robotshop.com/products/hs-5087mh-hv-digital-micro-servo

Thanks for your patience.

Did you remember a connector like this?

@cbenson
My order number is 1359103
Ordered lesser number of servos as I wanted to first test the setup.
Can you please let me know if I’m missing anything assuming it will have over 12 servos?
If something is missing, how can I add it to the order?
Please hold off shipping until that as I’d like to have whatever’s required to test the initial setup.

Really just the cable above (two of them) to connect between the power supply to the VS1 andVS2 screw terminals of the SSC-32U (it doesn’t have direct barrel connector input). Up to you if you also want servo extension cables.

The package already has a tracking number which you should have received via email, so it might already be out of the warehouse and heading to you.

Thanks @cbenson

I already have some wires for that kind of purpose; will use them.

Can you please tell me what the shaft diameter is for the HS-5087MH HV Servo? Trying to work out what kind of gears to get for them.

Thanks @cbenson

Are there any python libraries that can be used for this combination? They do look quite simple but always good to have a prebuilt library.

It’s not a normal shaft - RC servos use a specific splined shaft. That servo uses a 24 tooth output spline. You won’t be able to add a through-hold gear to this. The best way would be to mount something to the horn somehow.

No official Python library for the SSC-32U, but you’ll find the serial commands are really easy to understand and implement: normal serial output.
