Looking for a motherboard

Hey guys,

I am looking for a motherboard in order to assemble a high performance computer for my robot. It should support: A 2GHz quadcore cpu or better in order to support the vision system, (optional)a nividia graphic card for cuda application.

I was thinking to assemble a pc but battery is another concern--I can't find a battery on the market to power such a high performance pc.

I am just wondering if there is a motherboard that can support the cpu and gpu I needed, with low power consumption(possible to be powered by a battery)

   Thanks in advance!

PS: laptop might be another option but I don't need the components other than the motherboard, battery, cpu, gpu, memory and hardrive. So I don't want to waste my money on other stuff, if possible

hey guys! Really

hey guys!

Really appreciate for your reply! I have found a quad core cpu whose TDP is 37w. I am going to add another GPU for cuda and I expect the power consumption for that to be less than 100w.

So I expect the power consumption of the whole system to be lower than 200 watts, I am just wondering how can I power the motherboard with a dc battery, I am also wondering whehter a battery(12volts, 20Ah) would be good enough. Thanks

Pico-ITX

On my EX1 project I am using the VIA P910-10Q Pico-ITX quad core, it has very low power requirements, runs off 12VDC. To give some performance perspective, running Windows 7 64-Bit the windows test scores are:

  • Processor 3.6
  • Memory 4.9
  • Desktop graphics 3.5
  • Gaming graphics 5.4
  • Hard Drive (SSD) 7.6
