Litter robot 3 stopped working after 3 months

Hello,

My litter robot 3, which I just got in April, has stopped working. This has happened a number of times already (just stopped mid-cycle), but I was always able to unplug and plug back in to reset it.

This time, nothing seems to work. The yellow ‘cycling’ light is permanently on (not flashing), and I cannot turn the litter robot off (without unplugging it) or reset, empty, cycle. Please advise - I’m pretty disappointed considering how expensive it was.

Hello @aquilina,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.

Please provide us with your order number or a copy of the invoice.

Are you hearing any noises from the robot when it stops in the middle of the cycle?

Please remove the globe and check the black gear connected to the motor. When you press on the black gear with your finger, does it seem loose or free‐spinning? If so, please follow the instructions for tightening the set screw, here:
https://support-litter-robot.force.com/s/article/Fixing-a-loose-gear-on-your-Litter-Robot

When replacing the globe onto the base, make certain that the track around the outside of the globe is properly aligned into the groove on the base.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hello,

My order number is 1189683. There is no noise from the robot - it’s stopped completely, stuck on the yellow ‘cycle’ light (although not cycling). The black gear doesn’t seem to be loose or free-spinning.

Thanks

Hello,

I haven’t received a response on this issue. Please advise - I’m extremely disappointed that my robot has stopped working so quickly.

Hello @aquilina,

Thank you for your reply and sorry for the delayed answer.

It’s possible that the DFI sensor has gone defective for some reason so please try to clean the 2 green circuit boards of the DFI sensor sing isopropyl alcohol and a Q-Tip to remove any rust or dust from them.

Here’s a video to help you locate these boards:

If you find this too complicated for you, you can send us the robot for repair under the warranty.

Awaiting your reply.

Hello,

I tried to clean the sensors, but it doesn’t seem to have made a difference. What are the next steps to getting it repaired under warranty and what are the current r repair timelines?

Thanks again

Hello @aquilina,

Thank you for your reply.

In this case, we recommend sending the robot to our repair center for inspection and repair.

You will need to send us the base, the bonnet, and the power supply of the robot. No need to ship the drawer and the globe.

You can place the globe over the waste drawer and use them as a stationary litter box until the rest of the robot gets back to you.

We suggest a box dimension of 24 “wide x 18” deep x 24 "high. The Bonnet should be put in the box upside down on top of the litter base.

The repair usually takes 10 to 14 business days and it’s fully covered by the warranty including the shipping.

If you wish to carry on with the repair, please provide us with the following:

1- Shipping address.
2- Phone number.
3- Serial number located on the back of the robot.

You can send us these details in a private message.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,
