Litter robot 3 - dump position fault

I just received my new litter robot 3 today. It’s giving an error ‘dump position fault’ after making a cycle. I then do another cycle and this time it does not give an error. Am I missing anything? As I said this is brand new received today. Thanks

Hello @reuben,

Welcome back to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.

Please provide us with the order number for this robot.

Do you notice the robot over-rotating past the dump position or making any cracking noises?

Do your cats try to enter the robot while cycling?

Did this error appear again or just this one time?

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi @Ebram,
Order number is 1182891.
I cannot say it’s making any strange noises. It’s the 1st time I am using litter robot 3. Before I had litter robot bubble.
No, cats went in when it is at rest position.
The error is repeating itself, but not consistently. See attached screenshot from the app.
This morning ereoe is over torque fault.

Thanks
Reuben

Hello @reuben,

Thank you for your reply.

The over-torque fault would appear if something blocked the robot’s rotation during the cycle… if one of the cats tried to enter or if some clumps blocked the motor somehow.

Let’s start by power cycling your unit:
1.) Leave your unit powered ON with the blue blinking light engaged & Unplug your power supply from the base
2.) Wait 10 seconds then plug the unit back in
3.) Allow the unit to complete a start‐up cycle. If the light is solid blue, the code has been successfully cleared.

Let us know if you are still having the same faults after that.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi @Ebram

I unplugged and replugged the base as you said.
At that time the error fixed itself and after a cycle light came blue.
After that it ran 4 times without an error.
On the 5th use it’s giving again the over torque fault.
These 5 cycles where cat using the litter box.
Kindly advise.

Thanks
Reuben

Hello @reuben,

Thank you for your reply.

In this case, there’s a problem with the base of the robot so we will exchange it for a new one.

Please confirm if your shipping details are still the same and provide us with the serial number located on the back of the base.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi @Ebram ,

Thanks for your reply.
My address is where I received my litter robot 3.
The serial number is: LR3C1487585

But I have a question, when you say I have a problem with the base, why would this be the case if it is brand new? I just received it on Monday. I paid eur750 in total as I paid for extended warranty too. But I do not expect that after a week I already have half my litter robot 3 replaced. I paid and bought a new litter robot 3.

I understand that there could be a problem with a robot, but I don’t want to replace half the robot if you state it’s broken. I hope you understand my concern.

Thanks
Reuben

Hello @reuben,

Thank you for your reply.

It’s possible that there’s a manufacturing default.

The source of this issue is coming from the base so we suggested exchanging it with a new one.

However, we understand your concern and will forward you now to our replacement department so you can discuss the possibility of changing the whole robot.

You will be contacted shortly with further instructions.

Have a lovely evening, stay safe.

Sincerely,
