I’m really taken by the track base but I’m not sure what I want to put on top of it yet. Got one or two other things going at present but as soon as they are sorted I will order one from you. Might just outfit it with a camera system of some sort.
I like the look of the little grabbers as well so might devise a dual arm system for it…
Not sure yet…
Will there be a drawing of it in erector set as that would allow me to play…
I’ve had my eye on the tracked base also. I’ve been wondering about a crawler with two of the bases used for locomotion with some sort of three-axis linkage between them.
I’ve also been considering how W.A.L.T.E.R. might look on top of one of the tracked bases. With full +/- 90 degree rotation and two arms, W.A.L.T.E.R. could do a lot of cool things. A two arm setup for a robot (including W.A.L.T.E.R.) using the tracked base would allow many kinds of options for doing stuff. I am also thinking about a Johnny 5 (or W.A.L.T.E.R.) type robot with two full biped type arms and full bend to the floor ability.
I am willing to work on a 3D model for the tracked base and all of its components if I can get the dimensions for everything. I already have a noce model of the GHM-04 motor, including the extended shaft for the encoder. I have not gotten a model for the encoder yet though.
I only built the robot, my son James did the rest. He taught the robot to move using the Sequencer, then video was created, then he mixed it all together. He can really make his way around the Sequencer program that’s for sure. 8)
