Wow!

Wow. that’s a nice big hexapod. Looks really impressive.

Servo cables nicely sleeved and smart usage of space by putting the ubec in his head. Switches as eyes. It will be a clean looking robot I think.

Question: do you have some specs on the hardware you gonna use? Arduino? What are your plans about sensors and stuff?

I’m using an Arduino MEGA,

I’m using an Arduino MEGA, servo controller (SSC32u) a ps2 remote cotrol, and a buzer to know when i’m pressing the sticks-buttons. The spider runs on a modified phenix code to mach my servos pulses.

 

The servos are standard size @15kg with speed 0.18.

At max speed - full moves, can reach up to 11Amps@5V. Thats why im going to use the turnigy UBEC with a lipo battery @6V.

Small pieces of wood are screwed on femurs to avoid twisting and miss calculate the angles when running the movements.

Very cool! I recently built a quadropod using 12 micro servos, and I apparently skimped too much on the servos. They’re not strong enough to lift the thing from a squatting down position.

Can yours easily lift itself? Have you got an url for the servos you’re using?

Source Code

When you are at at good point would you mind sharing the source code? My poor Hexapod hasn’t moved in 4 years. Fried the power regulators and never got back to it. Recall being stuck on simple gait.
