I need 3d models of the track sprockets

hey all, does anyone happen to have 3d models or drawings that are accurate of the lynx motion tracked sprockets, the 6 link ones specifically. no one seems to have an actually model or drawings so i hope to find some b4 i drop a ton of money into some tracks without it being perfect in cad.

Matt

ah, see, now that expectation really doesn’t encourage folks to make what they may have already created freely available now does it? :open_mouth:

I’ve never seen the cad drawings of the sprockets made available to the public.

I thought EddieB had done the 9 tooth one???

He did but its not in the Lynxmotion 3D model collection.

I know, I’ve been looking for it since yesterday. :frowning:

ya I did both of them and the 9-tooth one is what I used on my tracked ROV model. it’s pretty close. I’ve sent the models off to a couple folks at this point that had asked in PM but nobody has ever gotten back to me with whether they were accurate or not. I’ll pull them off the XP box when I get home and send them to Beth… probably be exported step204 format since I built them in Rhino3D and I don’t think I can output solidworks or pro-e formats directly.

You da man! http://www.clipartof.com/images/emoticons/xsmall2/2403_worshipper.gif

Hey Eddie,

I found a problem with your tracked rover project images while I was searching the forum for some information.

lynxmotion.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1823

I really like what you did with the tracks. I hope the images still exist somewhere. :frowning:

right, forgot I had those links. I’ll see if I can put the pics on flikr or something.
edit: I got some of them but I’ll have to get the rest later since that appears to be all the ones I had here.
edit2: I found the rest of the pics and updated all the broken links I found.

I’ve uploaded EddieB’s sprocket models here:
lynxmotion.com/ViewPage.aspx … 115#tracks

You are awesome, and so is your tracked rover! Thanks for fixing the links! 8)

you guys are awesome, so i have one more question…

the 2" tracks have a rubber tread, correct?

for my project im thinking about removing that and i was wondering if that was at all possible.

Matt

ya.

um, no or not very cleanly although I’d not really tried. unless I miss my guess the track segments are made in a two shot mold where both the tread and the plastic are done together.
