The ARC-32 looks to be immune to the power resetting issue then. Mate it with a 7.4vdc lipo and the new HS-5685MH 7.4vdc servos and the result is a robust single supply control solution for servo based robotics! 8)
Just a warning because some people may take my notes above wrong. Only bypass the onboard regulator if you are supplying 5v or lower directly to Vdd.
So what this all means more clearly:
The LM2940 onboard regulator is an LDO so it won’t drop too much after hitting 5v. Maybe .5v max though the specs say even less. So if you supply 5v to the regulator you’ll probably see 4.5v on the Vdd pins. Since the ARC32 can run as low as 3.0(a little margin above 2.95) you should be able to run even with the input voltage to the regulator as low as around 3.5v.
Also there is a pretty big tantalium filter cap on the ARC32 which also helps greatly with power dropouts when using a lot of servos.
